OK, I'm no stranger
to foreign pop music. I love "99 Luftballons" and "Rock Me
Amadeus" as the next guy. But, I just couldn't get into this one.
Jacques Brel's French songs never quite caught own in the English-speaking
world, but translations of his songs were very popular. Terry Jacks had a
global pop hit in 1974 with "Seasons In The Sun" (I love that song!).
But, Brel's most frequently recorded song was "Ne me quitte pas"
(loosely translated as "If You Go Away").
Perhaps I'll give this one another try later.
